BOOK THREE – The Golden Cat
Synopsis – Book One starts with the fateful meeting of Raphael DeAires Kantor with his future foster father, Lord Demetrius VaCoupe. Kantor has just been freed from a decade of slavery and is now an orphan. The first book deals with how this damaged young person copes with having to catch up with his education, anticipating that he will be spending two to three years on University Ship to train into his anticipated speciality, Line Communications. Instead, Kantor finds himself abruptly stationed on a mothership and under the command of the great Feline top commander, Lord Lyonell. Kantor’s life is changed yet again when he becomes mated to a third cousin, Julia Ann Kadish, a young woman from his father’s home world of Airus. Then, he is impressed by his own foster brother, Commander Esturias VaCoupe and becomes a Line Communications commander, his first and totally unexpected command assignment. The story ends with the discovery of a little golden ship in an ancient buried outpost of a long-forgotten people, who are distantly related to the present-day Felines from the Suriya system. (and no, I didn’t spell out the entire plot line, but it has some surprising twists and turns along the way).
Book Two is primarily about the two focuses that will dominate Kantor’s life for the next 35 years, gowing his family, and the Starship Project.
Book Three begins just weeks after the ending of the Starship Project. Kantor has been reassigned as a Head commander and military aide to his adopted father, Lord Demetrius VaCoupe. Both he and his mate, Julia Kadish Kantor, are about to take up residence in Alyona Castle, the headquarters for the Federation located in the Jayha star system (Alcyone). Kantor will also be working with the Alyona Communications Command Center which he helped to found along with his early mentor, Head Commander Charles Lo’Telle.
