Journal Entry 08.30.16 – Princess Place Preserve

Today I ventured out on a little jaunt to the nearby Princess Place Preserve.  The weather was quite breezy, cloudy and pleasant for a late August day around here.  I wandered around near the lodge and then found a little trail that went out towards Pellicer Creek.  The hike was about 1.2 miles long, partially sand/grass trail, paved trail and sandy road.  There was no one else at the park probably due to the threatening weather.  After completing the hike, it started to rain… hard.  All in all, a lucky day to be out for a little bit.  Animals seen, one deer, several squirrels; birds, Blue Heron, Egret and assorted song birds.
