Eliza: The Joy of Creation

Eliza:  The Joy of Creation

I completed two paintings this weekend, plus a couple of drawings.  Haven’t done so much artwork for a very long time.

Long ago, I promised myself that I would dedicate my elder years to art.  I’m over 60 years of age.  It’s time to start.  And I’m enjoying it now that my focus is no longer on some fuzzy elsewhere, but here and now.

Being happy doing what you love IS the way to be, no matter if it’s just doing housework (which I completed, too).

Now for another subject, more drawings… and more paintings… Wonderful

Hugs and kisses,

Eliza Ayres

  1. I guess we all have had thoughts about what we will do more when we are in our older age. Wonder how many actually implement those dreams when the time comes… 🙂 It is really nice to also see the artwork you are working on. So thank you for sharing the pictures here. I personally really liked your Autumn Joy. It was something I would gladly hang on my wall. 🙂 The landscape paintings I imagine to be the views you see there. Am I right?

    • With a little artistic license, the landscape is similar to what is seen near the town where I live. We are surrounded by wheat fields, vineyards and orchards, in a slightly tilted bowl of a valley. Mountains rise up to the east, really long undulating ridges made up largely of ancient volcanics (basalt, etc.) laid down under the ocean millions of years ago. Autumn Joy was an abstract taken from one of my photographs of local dogwoods in the fall. Some years they color up with wonderful shades of gold, purple and red. Eliza
